Our wastewater disposal department oversees the collection and purification of Berlin’s wastewater in our treatment plants. We construct, operate, and maintain our sewers, pumping stations, and treatment facilities. The department organisation manages all cross-functional management topics within the wastewater disposal division.
Description
Your Role and Impact with Us
Managing and tracking objectives and measures within the EMAS management system for wastewater disposal
Coordinating and supervising the preparation of the BWB Environmental Statement for the department
Coordinating the EMAS certification of the department and acting as the central point of contact for external auditors
Managing the preparation and execution of internal and external EMAS audits and environmental audits within the department
Ensuring the definition, development, and monitoring of environmental metrics for the department
Procuring and evaluating data for the Environmental Statement and monitoring the environmental program
Requirements
Your Profile
Master’s degree in Sustainability and Quality Management, Environmental Management, Business Administration, Risk Management, or related fields with solid knowledge in relevant tasks
Alternatively: Bachelor’s degree in one of the mentioned fields with additional qualifications equivalent to a Master’s degree, along with comprehensive expertise in sustainability management, management systems, and strategic company development
In-depth knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., EU directives such as CSRD, Energy Efficiency Act, and environmental law)
Familiarity with the setup and operation of management systems
Understanding of sustainability concepts such as ecology, social responsibility, and corporate responsibility (ESG)
Extensive knowledge in sustainability management, particularly in management system evaluation and sustainability goals
Experience in project management

Compensation
We offer remuneration in pay group 12 according to the collective agreement for utility companies (TV-V). Depending on personal qualifications, classification in a lower pay group may also occur.
