What You'll Achieve with Us
Strategic, technical, and disciplinary management of the department in the laboratory of Berliner Wasserbetriebe, including working groups in Microbiology/Wastewater Biology/Molecular Biology, Organic Trace Analytics, and IT
These working groups are essential: for the protection of drinking water, groundwater resources, the environment/waterways, our plant facilities and processes, and for managing the complex laboratory IT infrastructure
Actively shape processes, strategies, and technologies at the management level in the laboratory
Lead highly motivated and specialised teams in a pioneering work environment
Optimise, digitalise, and automate diverse and complex laboratory processes
Requirements
Your Profile
Master's/Diploma in Chemistry focusing on Analytical Chemistry, with relevant job experience; PhD desirable
Master's/Diploma in alternative fields such as Environmental Chemistry, Environmental and Process Engineering, or Food Chemistry, with relevant job experience in chemical analytics; PhD desirable
Solid, several years of experience in water analysis laboratories (microbiological & trace analytics)
Experience in managing employees (disciplinary & technical)
Knowledge of DIN EN ISO 17025, water/wastewater legislation
Familiarity with LIMS, process digitalisation & automation
Experience in research projects and committee work
Goal-oriented leadership, analytical skills, and ability to integrate
Team player, creativity, communication, and organisational talent
Desirable: Knowledge of the natural & anthropogenic water cycle, including microbiology, environmental chemistry, and purification, as well as process management & BPMN knowledge

Compensation
We offer remuneration at pay grade 14 according to the Collective Agreement for Utility Companies (TV-V). Depending on personal qualifications, classification into a lower pay grade is possible.
