About Us
We are a research institute based in Berlin, specialising in energy technology. To strengthen our HR team, we are looking for a responsible, diligent, and independently working individual to help create a professional and attractive work environment for research.
Your Tasks
Your responsibilities include overseeing the entire employee lifecycle and contributing to the development of professional, legally compliant, and efficient HR processes. Key tasks include:
- Personnel Administration across the Employee Lifecycle
Manage all administrative HR processes from onboarding to offboarding, including contract management, probation support, change management, and offboarding; prepare, review, and manage contractual documents; maintain and update digital and paper-based personnel files and HR systems; produce certificates, letters of reference, and other personnel-related documents.
- Timekeeping, Compensation Data, and Remuneration Processes
Manage working hours, leave accounts, absences, and other payroll-relevant data; preparation and coordination of personnel-related information with external tax advisors, payroll service providers, or other relevant offices.
- Recruiting and Talent Acquisition
Independently manage and support the entire recruitment process – from preparing and publishing job adverts to prescreening, coordinating interviews, and candidate communication up to onboarding; assist in the development of recruitment processes and strategies.
- Support of Managers and Employees
Act as a contact person for managers and employees for all personnel-related issues; support individual personnel measures and work closely with internal departments, particularly law, finance, and (payroll) accounting.
- Employment Law, Data Protection, and Immigration Law
Work on employment law topics and support compliance with data protection requirements in the HR field; assist with immigration law matters, especially concerning the employment of international staff.
- Communication with Authorities and External Bodies
Communicate and correspond with authorities and other external bodies on personnel-related matters, especially with social insurance agencies, employment agencies, immigration authorities, insurers, and other relevant contacts.
- Personnel Development, Reporting, and Process Optimisation
Contribute to personnel development measures, training, and other qualification formats according to departmental needs; prepare evaluations, statistics, and decision-making documents in the HR area and help optimise internal processes, guidelines, and standards.
- Corporate Culture and Organisational Support
Support measures to promote a professional and positive corporate culture, including organising internal events, teambuilding measures, and further administrative HR projects.
Your Profile
- Education
Completed university degree (Bachelor or higher) related to HR management, business (administration), law, or a related field
2.Professional Experience
At least 1 year of practical professional experience in HR in Germany; knowledge of German employment law is advantageous
3.Language Skills
English is our corporate language. Therefore, excellent English skills, both spoken and written, are required for internal collaboration. Additionally, excellent German skills, both spoken and written, are required for communication with authorities and personnel matters in Germany. Language proficiency at a level comparable to C1 (CEFR) or higher is desirable in each case.
4.Core Competencies
Strong communication skills, a friendly and professional demeanour, a structured approach to work, and a responsible handling of confidential information. Knowledge of data protection, immigration law, and experience in communication with authorities are advantageous.
5.IT Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with HR management systems like Personio is beneficial.

Employment Details
1.Working Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)
2.Location: Berlin, Germany
3.Term: Initially a two-year contract. Subject to performance and business needs, there is the possibility of transitioning to a permanent position. There is no guarantee of this transition.
