Intro
Description
Currently, our data modelling and transformation logic primarily resides within the BI tool.
The aim of this role is to establish a clean, scalable data architecture outside of the reporting layer.
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for structuring our Data Warehouse, including ELT architecture, transformation logic, and pipeline orchestration.
The focus is clearly on architecture, data modelling, and sustainable infrastructure—not primarily dashboard creation.
Designing and building a modern ELT architecture (from Raw through Staging to Data Mart).
Developing and maintaining a structured Data Warehouse with clean transformation logic outside the BI tools.
Data modelling within the Warehouse (e.g., Star Schema, with a view to Data Vault, SCD2).
Implementing versioned transformations with dbt or similar tools.
Building and orchestrating stable, automated data pipelines (e.g., with Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster).
Integrating internal and external data sources (Shop, ERP, CRM, Marketing platforms, APIs).
Ensuring data quality, monitoring, and error handling within the pipeline architecture.
Technical advancement of the data platform regarding performance, scalability, and future cloud integration.
Requirements
Experience in building Data Warehouses or ELT architectures (Raw → Staging → Data Mart).
Proficient in using MS SQL Server and handling complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
Structured data modelling (e.g., Star Schema, SCD2).
Using dbt (or comparable) for clean and versioned transformation logic outside the BI tool.
Experience with orchestration (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster) and building stable pipelines.
Confident use of Python for data processing and pipeline logic.
Understanding of tracking data (Google Analytics, Meta Ads) and its integration into the data model.
Pragmatic use of BI tools such as Power BI.
English at B2 level.
