Our internship program for operationally relevant technical roles supports your professional integration in Germany. You will get to know the technical areas of Berliner Wasserbetriebe and directly apply your professional experience in practice. At the same time, we support your professional, linguistic, and cultural integration with us.

This is how the program works

The internship program runs from 01.12.2026 to 31.05.2027. You will work at Berliner Wasserbetriebe for three days a week, getting to know our areas of work.

Additionally, our cooperation partner supports you with services that make starting your career in Germany easier. This way, you can gain practical experience, improve your German skills, and gradually prepare for an application at Berliner Wasserbetriebe.

What to expect in practice

During your practical days, you will work in an area that matches your qualifications, experience, and interests.

Possible tasks include:

• Operation and monitoring of systems

• Maintenance and servicing

• Troubleshooting and fault analysis

• Technical field operations / network operation

• Logistical activities

You will start by getting to know Berliner Wasserbetriebe at a welcome event and receive all the important information for your start.

Throughout the program, a fixed contact person will support you in your daily work and assist you with any questions.

• You have a technical or craftsman education, for example in electrical engineering, metalworking, environmental technology, or logistics.

• You already reside in Germany.

• Ideally, you have German language skills at level B2.

• A class B driving licence is advantageous but not a requirement.

• You are willing to work shifts in some operational areas.

• You wish to establish your career in Germany and develop both professionally and linguistically.

Remuneration: You receive an individual internship compensation.
