We are looking for you for the Office for Environmental Protection in the state capital Stuttgart. The position is to be filled permanently.

The Office for Environmental Protection, with 235 employees, performs various municipal and state environmental protection tasks. The General Administration department supports the office management and the five specialised departments in fulfilling their tasks and objectives, mainly through central services in the areas of personnel, organisation, and budget, as well as digitisation and information and communication technology.

Description

A Job That Inspires You

  • You will be the point of contact for users with IT queries and manage disruptions (First and Second Level Support).

  • You will be responsible for client support (hardware, general software, specialised software), administration of specialised software, management of printers/multifunctional devices, user management (password, user and group management, permissions and file structure management), and onboarding of first-time users.

  • Your tasks include the design and coordination of the implementation of new IT procedures.

  • You will support digitalisation projects, such as the introduction of the electronic file in cooperation with the Office for Digitalisation, Organisation and IT (DO.IT).

  • Managing and maintaining the IT measures plan, including procurement (hardware and software), IT asset management, IT licence management, and IT asset accounting are also part of your responsibilities.

Changes or additions to the range of tasks may occur.

Requirements

Your Profile That Fits Us

  • Completed studies in the field of information and communication technology or a comparable degree, or individuals with a completed degree who have gained equivalent skills and experience in the IT sector through several years of professional activity (recognition of foreign degrees in Germany is required).

  • Applications are also welcome from individuals with a completed apprenticeship who have gained equivalent skills and experience in the IT sector through several years of professional activity.

  • Strong interest and understanding of IT matters and administrative processes, as well as practical experience in public administration, are advantageous.

  • Confident use of common standard applications such as Windows and MS Office products. 

  • Ability to work independently, service orientation, efficient handling of peak workloads, and excellent communication skills in written and spoken German.
