Description
Assist in the creation and monitoring of project budgets
Prepare funding requests and monitor incoming payments
Settle project accounts and prepare interim and final reports for funders
Transfer advances to foreign delegations
Manage foreign cash accounts, including documenting and archiving receipts
Maintain project documents and process invoices
Prepare payment and booking instructions
Communicate with financial officials in overseas delegations, sometimes in English
Support internal and external audits
Participate in preparatory year-end closing activities in the area of foreign aid
Requirements
Completed commercial or administrative training or equivalent qualification
Good accounting knowledge
Initial experience in the settlement of funding, e.g., from the EU, BMZ, or Federal Foreign Office
Understanding of the Federal Budget Code; knowledge of grant law is advantageous
Experience with financial accounting software such as SAP and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365
Proficiency in Office 365, especially Excel
Excellent German skills, both written and spoken
Good English skills, both written and spoken
Independent and responsible working style
Team player and alignment with the principles of the Red Cross
