Description
ekvip automation GmbH is a software house for mechanical and plant engineering, headquartered in Leipzig with subsidiaries in the USA and Sarajevo. We develop TwinCAT-3 frameworks (including our open-source framework cinnamon), C# applications for machine and line level as well as services related to commissioning. Our guiding principle is simple: we shape automation.
To further expand our industrial software solutions, we are seeking an experienced programmer (m/f/d) with a strong focus on software design. In this position, you will combine structured software engineering with a solid understanding of automation technology and PLC.
Your Tasks
- Develop customised software solutions with machine languages such as Codesys, TwinCAT, or SiemensAX, based on our own software framework as well as independent solutions
- Design, structure and further develop robust software architectures for industrial applications
- Analyse and gain deep understanding of the existing software environments of our industrial clients
- Further develop and technically enhance our framework in line with customer requirements
- Define software fundamentals, libraries, interfaces and architectural guidelines
- Provide a stable and clearly structured foundation for subsequent PLC programming
Your Profile
- Several years (5+) of relevant professional experience in software development with object-oriented programming
- In-depth knowledge in microservices, clean architecture, domain-driven design (DDD) and design patterns
- Proficient use of cloud platforms (preferably Azure or AWS) and containerisation with Docker and Kubernetes
- Expertise in securing APIs (OAuth2, OpenID Connect) and optimising the performance of complex systems
- Confident use of unit, integration, and end-to-end tests (xUnit, NUnit, Moq)
- Experience in industrial environments (mechanical engineering, plant engineering, production systems, etc.) is desirable
- Experience in mentoring junior developers and conducting code reviews constructively
- Ability to translate complex business processes into technical requirements
- Confident presentation to stakeholders and the ability to explain technical matters comprehensibly
- Very good knowledge of German and/or English
- Willingness to travel internationally
