Intro
We are looking for you to join the Waste Management Stuttgart (AWS) of the state capital Stuttgart. The position is permanent.
AWS employs around 1,000 staff at the headquarters in Stöckach and various operational sites throughout the city area. Our main tasks include collecting and transporting waste, street cleaning, winter service, and central municipal fleet management with an in-house workshop. We also operate a mineral landfill and several recycling centres. The position is assigned to the property management of the Operations and Facility Planning division.
Description
A role that excites you
Your duties include commissioning major repairs through property management and independently performing minor repair and maintenance tasks
You monitor and maintain the operational readiness of building systems, operate building management technology, assess the need for inspections and maintenance, ensure compliance with inspection schedules for safety-critical systems, and conduct regular inspections to ensure traffic safety
You are responsible for commissioning, briefing, and instructing craft businesses following a previous risk assessment, including signing reports
You are in charge of coordinating waste disposal
You supervise the internal building cleaning service, consisting of nine employees, maintain relevant documentation and logs, and arrange ordering of necessary operational supplies and consumables
If necessary, you ensure the cleaning of traffic areas and clearing/sanding in case of snow and ice
Changes or additions to the scope of duties may occur.
Requirements
Your profile fits us
Completed three-year vocational training in a craft or industrial-technical field, preferably in heating, ventilation, or electrical engineering (foreign qualifications require official recognition in Germany)
Applications are also welcome from those who can perform the respective tasks based on equivalent skills and experience after at least three years as a janitor for the City of Stuttgart or at least six years in a comparable role
Professional experience as a janitor in public administration is advantageous
Technical understanding and manual skills
Independent working style with good communication skills and manners
Good verbal and written proficiency in German (minimum B2 level)
