Language requirements

Intro

If you already have a qualification from your home country, want to re-energize your career, and improve your German language skills, we will prepare you for your entry into Deutsche Bahn together.

We are looking for you to start as soon as possible as a Track Construction Specialist (m/f/d).

You will receive a B2 language course and have the option for qualification as an Upper Track Specialist at DB InfraGO AG in Halle (Saale). Afterwards, you will start as a Track Construction Specialist and optionally undergo our qualification programme to become an Upper Track Specialist.

Description

  • First, you will complete a B2 level language course with an exam.

  • During the qualification phase, you will learn the basics of railways and important technical terms.

  • You will maintain tracks and rails.

  • You will independently perform inspection, maintenance, and repair work, for example, on rails and sleepers.

  • You will handle machines and tools in track construction safely.

  • You will always ensure the safety of your colleagues.

  • Regular training is also part of your daily routine – allowing you to continuously learn.

Requirements

  • You have a qualification, such as a skilled worker in civil engineering, steel construction, concrete construction, metalworking, masonry, locksmithing, mechanical engineering, or welding – or a degree in mechanical engineering or mechatronics.

  • Your qualification is already partially recognized in Germany – we will help you gain full recognition.

  • Preferred, but not mandatory: experience in track construction or the construction industry.

  • You are willing to work shifts (including nights, weekends, and public holidays) and enjoy working outdoors.

  • Having German language skills at B1 level is good. You can also apply with A2 level – we’ll discuss how to proceed together.

  • You already have a German driving licence class B or are willing to convert your licence.

  • You bring strong motivation for both language and technical learning.

  • You enjoy physical work and working in a team.

Required driving license

  • Car (B, BF17, BE)
