Intro

The University of the Bundeswehr Munich is seeking support for SAP administration in the data centre. The data centre is a central service provider and strategic advisor for IT supply for teaching, research, and administration. In this position, you will manage essential servers and services in the SAP HANA Cloud and contribute to the central IT infrastructure of the university.

In doing so, you will support a modern and efficient data network on campus as well as the IT connection to several external sites in the Munich area. The data centre works closely with all university institutions and serves around 7,000 clients, including approximately 4,000 military and civilian students.

Description

  • You maintain and monitor servers and services in the SAP HANA cloud.

  • You manage the SAP cloud and integrate it into the university network, for example via VPN, WAF, and SSO.

  • You coordinate SAP consultants and project leaders in Central Administration and the Presidential Area.

  • You plan and execute patch management, including suitable downtimes.

  • After updates, you promptly check if all applications function correctly and document the results.

  • You organise transport management between development, quality assurance, and production systems.

  • You take over 2nd-level support for technically demanding issues.

  • You ensure the functionality of various workstations.

  • You coordinate technical requirements and adjustments with the Helmut-Schmidt-University Hamburg.

  • You work closely with 1st-level support in the service desk.

  • You create internal customer documentation in the wiki.

Requirements

  • You possess a completed training in the information technology field.

  • A suitable qualification could be training as an IT specialist in data and process analysis, digital networking, or application development.

  • Training as an IT consultant for integrated systems or a comparable qualification is also possible.

  • You are proficient with MS Office, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • You have professional experience with MS Office, generally at least two years.

  • You have German language skills at a minimum of C1 level.

  • Knowledge of ticket systems and knowledge databases, for example, OTRS, is an advantage.

  • Experience with Active Directory, TCP/IP, Microsoft operating systems, and Linux is desirable.

  • You are service-oriented and enjoy finding solutions.

  • You present yourself confidently and professionally to clients.
