Intro
The German Centre for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) is a leading research centre worldwide. We explore new approaches to prevent and treat neurodegenerative diseases. We are seeking an IT Business Development Manager for our Bonn site, for full-time or part-time work (minimum 75%).
Description
Support the board in the strategic development of the IT department
Develop long-term IT strategies for hardware, HPC clusters, storage solutions, and AI infrastructure
Create business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and investment plans
Select and negotiate with suppliers for servers, GPU resources, network, and storage technologies
Manage framework contracts and service level agreements
Define technology roadmaps for future HPC and AI platforms
Monitor and evaluate new technologies such as quantum computing
Ensure all projects comply with regulations (e.g., GDPR, IT security)
Work closely with the board, specialist departments, and external partners
Regularly present progress, risks, and opportunities
Monitor market trends in HPC, cloud, and AI hardware
Requirements
Completed studies in business informatics, engineering, computer science, or similar (preferably a Master's)
Several years of experience in IT business development, preferably in research institutions or large technology companies
In-depth knowledge of HPC architectures, server and network hardware, and AI accelerators
Strong analytical skills and experience in creating business cases
Fluent German and English skills
Ability to present complex technical topics clearly to management
