Intro

The German Red Cross has been supporting people in need for over 150 years. At the Red Cross's General Secretariat in Berlin, you will help ensure that people in Germany and worldwide receive support. We are seeking an individual for the Operations Support team to assist with logistical tasks regarding procurement, materials, transport, and operations.

Description

  • Support ongoing assignments for the Red Cross and follow up accordingly
  • Assist as a contact person for queries regarding public procurement procedures and logistics services
  • Independently conduct procurement and tender processes
  • Create appropriate documentation following current rules and processes
  • Organise, coordinate, and supervise national and international transport of materials and relief goods
  • Support colleagues and partner organisations in the procurement, management, and transport of relief goods
  • Manage and track procured materials
  • Coordinate processes from needs assessment through supplier communication to delivery
  • If required, assist in the operational day-to-day business at the Red Cross Logistics Centre
  • Participate in major operations at the command and control centre of the Red Cross's General Secretariat

Requirements

  • Completed studies or equivalent qualification with relevant professional experience
  • Experience in procurement, logistics, supply chain management, or public procurement
  • Organisational talent and experience in coordinating complex logistic processes
  • Experience in national and international sectors is an advantage
  • Strong technical understanding
  • Basic knowledge in relief goods management is advantageous
  • Structured, service-oriented, and independent working style
  • Able to maintain an overview of multiple tasks simultaneously and under time pressure
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • Confident interaction with internal and external partners
  • Excellent German and English language skills, both spoken and written
  • Proficiency in Office 365
  • Knowledge of electronic procurement or inventory management systems is beneficial
  • Flexibility, resilience, and willingness to support outside normal working hours and on weekends
  • Valid Class 3 or B driving licence

Required driving license

  • Car (B, BF17, BE)
