Intro
Do you live and breathe social media and have a passion for football? As a Social Media Manager (m/f/d) in the Communications Directorate at Borussia Dortmund, you reach fans worldwide – on social media platforms with over 90 million followers and users.
We are looking for you to join us as soon as possible in a full-time position (40 hours per week).
Description
• Develop, produce, and publish social media content for all relevant platforms, including short-form and vertical videos.
• Create editorial plans and coordinate topics, content, and timing with the involved departments.
• Emotionally and promptly cover games, training sessions, and events live, producing up-to-date content.
• Monitor current trends, topics, and fan feedback, and regularly evaluate the performance of posts to continuously improve.
• Collaborate closely with internal departments and manage external agencies and content creators.
• Develop and evaluate activations with partners and sponsors.
Requirements
• Successfully completed studies in communications or media management, journalism, digital media, sports management, or a comparable field – or media-related training with several years of professional experience in social media.
• Extensive experience in independently planning, producing, publishing, and improving social media content for various platforms and target groups.
• Confident handling of editorial management of social media channels in a dynamic, current environment with short reaction times.
• Strong ability to proactively collaborate with internal and external parties, such as editorial, video, graphics, marketing, sponsorship, and agencies.
• Great interest in sports, especially football, as well as in topics like pop culture, lifestyle, media, and music.
• Loyalty, resilience, and reliability, even with changing demands.
• Discretion, conflict resolution skills, and confident demeanor in a high-profile environment.
• Excellent language skills and confident communication in German and English, both spoken and written, with a good sense for the right tone in the football context.
• Practical experience in video editing (for example, Premiere Pro/Rush, InShot, CapCut) and knowledge in digital image editing, especially in Photoshop.
• Willingness to work on weekends and match days as well as flexible working hours.
