Intro
Borussia Dortmund is a globally renowned football club and a company with over 900 employees. We are searching for an individual to join our Performance Team at the Youth Performance Centre as an Athletic Trainer for the U17, helping to develop and support young players athletically.
Description
Planning, organising, conducting and documenting athletic training content for the U17
Managing workload in close coordination with the coaching team
Developing and implementing individual athletic programmes in the areas of strength, speed, endurance, and flexibility
Creating and implementing prevention programmes
Conducting individual athletic and rehabilitation sessions with players from the youth performance centre
Contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of training and rehabilitation standards
Supporting performance diagnostic measures
Close collaboration with the athletic & rehabilitation management and the U17 coaching team
Cooperating with the medical department and athletic trainers of other teams
Requirements
Degree in sports science or a related field, ideally with relevant additional qualifications
Experience as an athletic trainer, preferably in football or another team sport
Additional licences are an advantage, such as DFB Athletic Trainer Licence or DOSB Athletic Trainer
Good understanding of biomechanics and the physical foundations of athletic performance
Knowledge of current developments in sports performance and modern training methods
Ability to recognise individual player needs and tailor training plans accordingly
Strong communication skills, social competence, and empathy in dealing with coaches, players, and medical team
High flexibility and willingness to work evenings and weekends
Very good German and English language skills, both spoken and written
Affinity with Borussia Dortmund and enjoyment of working in a team
