Intro

The University of the Bundeswehr Munich is seeking a technical specialist for the Institute of Communication Systems and High Frequency Technology. The institute is part of the Faculty for Electrical Energy Systems and Information Technology and works on important future-oriented topics in information technology.

In this position, you will support two professorships in the field of information technology and contribute to research on communication networks, information transmission, and signal processing. You will work in modern laboratories, within a dedicated 5G campus network and a unique experimental ground station for satellite applications. Your work will help advance next-generation mobile networks like 6G and new satellite communication systems.

Description

  • You will develop, set up, and support research and laboratory experiments.

  • You will actively support the team in projects in the field of information and communication technology.

  • You will maintain mechatronic systems and electronic circuits and perform minor repairs.

  • You will procure, repair, and dispose of devices, components, and consumables as needed.

  • You will be reliably involved in office and laboratory organisation.

  • You will assist in preparing and supporting conferences and meetings.

  • You will help with laboratory safety and in the area of EMF and laser protection.

Requirements

  • You possess a completed vocational training in a technical field.

  • You have professional experience related to the tasks, usually at least two years.

  • You are proficient in the German language and have good command of English in both spoken and written form.

  • You hold a valid class B driving licence.

  • Structured working is second nature to you.

  • You have an interest in technology and are open to new topics.

  • You are confident using MS Office, such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • You enjoy working with IT.

  • You adapt flexibly to changing requirements.

  • You enjoy working in a team and can maintain an overview even in demanding environments.

  • You are committed to the free democratic basic order as defined in the Basic Law.

  • You possess competencies in equality and diversity.
