Senior IT System Engineer / IT Operations (m/f/d)

In this responsible position, you ensure the stability and scalability of our business-critical infrastructure. You lead and continuously optimise our entire IT setup. Your responsibilities include:

• Operation and maintenance of the server infrastructure in the data centre

• Management and development of the virtualisation environment based on Microsoft Hyper-V

• Ensuring backup and recovery processes with Veeam Backup & Replication

• Handling complex technical enquiries in 3rd Level Support

• Management of Microsoft infrastructure, especially Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online

• Monitoring the system landscape with Datadog, Wotan, and Pingdom

• Maintaining and updating network and system documentation in Netbox

• Ensuring a stable 24/7 operation of the e-commerce platform

• Management and optimisation of load balancing and security solutions such as HAProxy and Akamai WAF

• Operation and optimisation of SQL server clusters as well as IIS and Nginx web servers

• Management and scaling of container environments with Kubernetes, Docker, and Podman

• Managing network and security infrastructure with VLANs, Unifi, and Sophos firewalls

• Development of automation solutions with PowerShell and Bash

• Utilisation and management of AI-supported technologies and workloads

• Several years of experience in 3rd Level Support or system administration

• Experience in business-critical IT environments, ideally in e-commerce or web hosting

• Good knowledge in operating hardware in data centres

• Extensive experience with Hyper-V clusters and highly available SQL server environments

• Knowledge in load balancing and traffic management, for example with HAProxy

• Experience with security and CDN solutions like Akamai WAF

• Good knowledge in administering Nginx and IIS web servers

• Experience with Kubernetes and modern container technologies like Docker and Podman

• Proficiency with VLANs, Sophos firewalls, and backup solutions like Veeam

• Excellent knowledge in PowerShell and Bash for process automation

• Experience with monitoring solutions like Datadog, Pingdom, or Wotan

• Analytical thinking and structured working style
