Language requirements

Intro

If you already have training from your home country, want to restart your career, and improve your German language skills, we will prepare you for your start at Deutsche Bahn.

We are looking for you to join us as a skilled track worker (f/m/d) as soon as possible.

You will receive a B2 language course and the option of qualification as a structural engineering specialist at DB InfraGO AG in Kempten or Ingolstadt. Afterwards, you will start as a skilled track worker with the optional progression through our qualification programme to become a structural engineering specialist.

Description

  • You will first take a B2 language course with an exam

  • During the qualification phase, you will learn the basics of the railway and important technical terms

  • You will maintain tracks and rails

  • You will independently carry out inspection, maintenance, and repair work, for example on rails and sleepers

  • You will handle machines and tools in track construction safely

  • You will always ensure the safety of your colleagues

  • Regular training sessions are also part of your routine, enabling continuous learning

Requirements

  • You have training, for example, as a construction worker, steelworker, concrete worker, metalworker, bricklayer, locksmith, mechanic, or welder – or a degree in mechanical engineering or mechatronics

  • Your training is already partially recognized in Germany – we will assist you with full recognition

  • Experience in track construction or the construction industry is a plus but not essential

  • You are willing to work shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) and enjoy working outdoors

  • German at B1 level is good. You can also apply with A2 – we will explore next steps together

  • You already have a German Class B driving licence or are willing to have yours converted

  • You are highly motivated to learn both linguistically and professionally

  • You enjoy physical work and like working in a team

Required driving license

  • Car (B, BF17, BE)
