As a Staff Counsellor, you will support IOM employees in Germany by providing psychological counselling and contributing to their overall well-being. Working in a humanitarian setting, you will also help implement the UN Mental Health Strategy.
🧠 Your Tasks 🧠
• Provide psychological counselling and support through confidential one-on-one and group sessions for staff and their dependents
• Conduct psychosocial risk assessments in the workplace and assist in addressing identified issues
• Advise on and support the implementation of the UN Mental Health Strategy in the Country Office
• Participate in and coordinate welfare responses during emergencies and critical incidents
• Develop and deliver training on stress management, emotional resilience, and other mental health topics
• Create psycho-educational materials and support preventative mental health initiatives
• Offer consultations to managers to enhance staff well-being and mental health
• Identify local mental health resources for referrals or crisis interventions
👩⚕️ Your Profile 👨⚕️
• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in mental health
• Experience in humanitarian settings or working with staff in challenging environments
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in diverse, multicultural teams
• Fluency in English and fair proficiency in German
