Introduction

We are GUME, a manufacturer of custom rubber moulded and composite parts for clients such as Siemens, MAN, Magna, Krones, and PARI. Our in-house toolmaking is the key driver of quality, speed, and growth. That's why we've nearly doubled this team in the past few months.

By 2026, we plan to increase our orders by 25% – and we need you to achieve this.

Tasks

• You will design tools for our rubber moulded and composite parts in SolidWorks – from the initial sketch to production readiness.
• You will create 3D models, technical drawings, and production documents for our toolmaking department.
• You will manufacture, modify, and optimise tools yourself on our CNC milling machines and directly solve tool and production issues at the machine.
• You will independently test, measure, and adjust new tools and immediately see the impact of your design and production work.
• You will continuously improve our existing tool inventory.
• You will communicate at eye level with our clients’ designers in medical technology, engineering, aerospace, and defence.

Profile

• Your foundation: Training as a tool mechanic, precision mechanic, toolmaker, cutting machine operator, mechanical engineering technician, or comparable qualifications. We value skills over titles.
• Your toolkit: Proficient in SolidWorks/SolidCAM or a similar CAD system (Catia, Creo, Inventor, etc.) or willing to quickly learn.
• Your practical experience: Comfortable at both the CAD workstation and the CNC milling machine, and understand how a design becomes a finished tool.
• Your mindset: Ability to read technical drawings confidently, think in terms of tolerances, fits, and manufacturing-ready solutions.
