Engineer for High Performance Computing (m/f/d)

Are you interested in managing and developing modern IT systems for research? At DZNE in Bonn, you will support research and administration with High Performance Computing across multiple locations.

• Planning, operation, and further development of central HPC and scientific computing systems with Linux

• Participation in the setup of BeeGFS clusters, Slurm Workload Manager, and InfiniBand switches

• Development and implementation of NVIDIA GPU solutions for scientific calculations

• Operation of the central data centre and data centres at the DZNE locations

• Installation and cabling of server and storage hardware in the data centre

• Planning and management of medium and long-term IT projects

• Coordination of external service providers

• Monitoring and planning of power and cooling requirements for scientific IT systems

• Completed studies in computer science or a related field

• Experience with Linux systems in research or academia

• Knowledge in High Performance Computing, GPU systems, and InfiniBand switches

• Experience with Linux HPC, Slurm, parallel cluster file systems, as well as compute and storage nodes

• Willingness to work in the data centre, e.g., with servers, storage, racks, and cabling

• Knowledge in business continuity and disaster recovery

• Sense of responsibility, initiative, and ability to work in a team

• Excellent analytical skills and precise work practices in data centre operations

• Good communication skills and enjoyment in collaboration
