DZNE in Bonn is seeking a motivated individual for an MSc thesis or internship in the field of neuroimmunology. The "Translational Neuroimmunology" research group investigates how brain inflammation affects the development of Alzheimer's.
Description
Research at the intersection of immunology and neuroscience
Participation in the research group "Translational Neuroimmunology" at the DZNE in Bonn
Investigating how metabolic changes affect microglia reactions in neurodegeneration
Working with murine and human microglia cells in cell culture
Conducting immune activation assays
Using modern lab methods such as metabolic assays, flow cytometry, fluorescence imaging, and Western blot
Analysis and presentation of scientific data in English
Requirements
Currently enrolled at a university in an MSc programme
BSc degree in immunology, neuroscience, biology, or a similar field
Initial experience in experimental immunology, neuroscience, or cell metabolism research is highly beneficial
Hands-on experience with cell culture and biochemical methods, such as protein assays, Western blot, or PCR
Knowledge in immunohistochemistry or flow cytometry is a plus
Excellent command of English for communication, writing, and presentations
Strong motivation for interdisciplinary research
Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Willingness to work in a diverse, international team
