Settled on a green, natural campus just a short drive from the vibrant coastal city of Rostock, FBN offers an inspiring setting for impactful research dedicated to a sustainable future in agriculture.   We are looking to fill a position for a PhD student (m/f/d) Start date 1 of May 2025 Working hours Half-time Limitation 36 months  Remuneration Pay group 13 TV-L (65 %) Tender number 2025-12 What to expect: Contribution and your own qualification (doctorate) as part of the nutritional research project ‘Bioavailability of different vitamin E sources in cattle and pigs’ by the two working groups Nutritional Physiology and Metabolic Health. Your main task is to investigate the kinetics of vitamin E after oral application of various vitamin E forms and its relationship to immunological and antioxidative parameters in young pigs and cattle. The task includes experiments with animals and laboratory analytical work. What to bring: University degree in veterinary medicine, agricultural science, nutrition science, biology or a comparable field of study Basic knowledge in animal nutrition and metabolic physiology, interest and high motivation to work in the laboratory (analysis of metabolites) and with animals Knowledge of handling farm animals is advantageous, but not a requirement Knowledge of statistical data analysis Ability to work in a team, commitment, creativity and initiative in the fulfilment of tasks Good English language skills, both written and spoken (willingness to learn German language) What we offer: At FBN, you will be welcomed by a dedicated, multidisciplinary team.
