We are a young start-up team based in Jena, Thuringia, developing computer vision software with the aim to detect fraud image-based. Our main focus is currently on private health insurance, where insured people send their receipts (paper receipts or smart phone images of receipts) to the insurance company and will be reimbursed. The insurance company automatically processes the receipts and at the moment there is no solution to check if the sent-in receipts are valid or not. So about 1% of the total insurance payments are paid to fraudsters who send in faked documents. Our software analyzes the image of every single receipt and looks for characteristic features to detect the fraud.
