Chemonics seeks finance specialists for an anticipated Department of State-funded local governance and civil society project in Syria. These positions are based in Berlin, Germany, and do not require travel to Syria. All applicants must have current work authorization in Europe. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Support the project’s finance department to ensure expenses are compliant and recorded in accordance with project policies
Work with appropriate counterparts to ensure proper tax withholdings and payroll administration for project employees
Support the finance department with financial issues such as timesheet preparation, expense report processing, tracking local expenditures, and paying vendors
University degree in business management or accounting, or related professional certification, preferably from a German institution
Minimum three years of relevant financial management and administration experience
Ability to work in a professional and cordial manner with fellow staff members, visitors, partner institutions including international and local NGOs, governmental entities, support organizations, and the general public
Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office, particularly handling financial management functions using Microsoft Excel
Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
Fluency in writing and speaking German and professional proficiency in writing and speaking English; proficiency in Arabic preferred
