Chemonics seeks program officers and associates for an anticipated Department of State-funded local governance and civil society project in Syria. These positions are based in Berlin, Germany, and do not require travel to Syria. All applicants must have current work authorization in Europe. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Play a central role in developing and managing sub-awards with Syrian organizations
Remain in compliance with donor and Chemonics regulations and policies
Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with groups in Syria
Support achievement of project objectives
Minimum three years of experience in project design, development, and management of relevant donor-funded community development projects in the region
Experience working with local Syrian organizations on project design and assessing technical and programmatic capacities
Experience working on Syria-related efforts, preferably in the northeast
Knowledge of or experience in working on local governance, civil society efforts in conflict zones, or media and community engagement
Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
Fluency in Arabic and English; Kurdish language skills an advantage
